Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Test Equipment Hardware Design Engineer 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Woodland Hills, CA. The qualified individual will be a part of the Test Equipment Design & Development team. On the Mission Systems Sector team you'll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

The Test Equipment Hardware Design Engineer will apply appropriate requirements, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of test equipment systems that support navigation, space, and situational awareness engineering applications.

This position may be filled at level 3 or 4

Basic Qualifications:

Qualifications for a level3:

Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences with 5 years relevant experience; Master's in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 3 years of relevant experience.

Perform electrical/electronic and mechanical design and packaging of test hardware products, including modules, racks, cables and interface test adapters

Must be capable of designing to hardware requirements specifications, interface control documents and statements of work.

Communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, management and customers.

Qualifications for a level4:

Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences with 9 years of relevant experience; Master's in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 7 years of relevant experience.

Perform electrical/electronic and mechanical design and packaging of test hardware products, including modules, racks, cables and interface test adapters

Must be capable of designing to hardware requirements specifications, interface control documents and statements of work.

Experience developing flow-down requirements from higher level requirements.

Communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, management and customers.

Ability to lead/direct and advise junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.

Experience with communication busses Mil-Std 1553, ARINC 429, IEEE 488, RS-422.

Computer Architecture (bus standards, interrupts, memory) knowledge.

Mathworks Simulink, MatLab.

National Instruments LabView.

Experience with scripting languages, assembly languages, C, and a high order object-oriented language such as C++, Java, or C#.

Experience developing VHDL applications for FPGA designs as well as developing simulation via test bench and vectors.
