Northrop Grumman Engineer Software Quality 2/3 in Woodland Hills, California

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Software Quality Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Woodland Hills, CA location. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Software Quality Engineering team that is engaged with cutting edge technology on a dynamic portfolio of products to meet our customer's mission needs. The Software Quality Engineer 2/3 performs tasks that contribute to the completion of program execution for one or more programs to meet the requirements of the contracts and business.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with engineering to ensure software development standards are in place and being met.

  • Evaluates and reports on design and process evaluations of various engineering work products.

  • Identifies and reports on product or process non-conformances and/or non-compliances.

  • Ensures that corrective measures are performed to completion, meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Represents the organization in finding solutions to difficult technical and contractual issues.

  • Has frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

  • Assures contractual work products are completed and delivered on-time.

This position may be filled at a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM Discipline

  • Two (2) + years of related work experience (or a Master's Degree with 1+ years of work experience) software quality engineering or related role

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

  • Five(5) + years of related work experience (or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of work experience) software quality engineering or related role

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an environment delivering products for a military avionics environment

  • Previous experience working in an environment delivering products following the DO178 standard

  • Have worked in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System Environment

  • Have worked with CMMI based processes
