Northrop Grumman Principal/Senior Principal Software Developer Analyst (Power BI) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking an enthusiast and well-rounded Principal/Senior Principal Software Developer Analyst (Power BI) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Department of Treasury's Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) program. As part of our team, the candidate will help the customer define and implement an overarching framework to achieve its long-term goals of integrated data governance and comprehensive data strategy. This position is physically located in Northwest Washington, DC and allows for partial telework. To be successful, the candidate must have a good understanding of the languages and technologies of the Microsoft Power BI, knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques, fundamental understanding of data warehouse concepts, and strong SQL performance tuning skills in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. The candidate will work directly with the Federal team to design and develop new applications, maintain/configure existing applications, create technical documentation, and conduct testing. Additionally, the candidate will troubleshoot application and system issues and provide user support.

The candidate is expected to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and work effectively with employees, subcontractors, and the Treasury staff in a diverse team environment.

This position may be filled as a Level 3 (Principal) or Level 4 (Senior Principal) Power BI Developer.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for Level 3 Principal Power BI Developer:

• Bachelor's Degree with 5 years' experience OR Master's Degree with 3 years' experience. An additional 4 years' experience may be substituted for degree.

• Minimum 2 years of Power BI Report and Dashboard experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions

• Minimum 2 years of working with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

• Experience in Data Modeling

• Experience writing complex SQL queries, creating views, developing stored procedures, and tuning SQL in a Microsoft environment

• Experience working with and creating data architectures

• Experience in validating business requirements and translating them into technical design documents

• Ability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple and changing priorities

• Must be available to provide scheduled and ad hoc evening and weekend support

• Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation security clearance

• Must be a US Citizen

• Minimum 3 years of working with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

• Experience in Data Modeling

• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server databases

• Experience writing complex SQL queries, creating views, developing stored procedures, and tuning SQL in a Microsoft environment

• Experience working with and creating data architectures

• Experience in validating business requirements and translating them into technical design documents

Preferred Qualifications:

• Power BI certification

• Strong understanding of Power BI data gateway and dataflow

• Experience developing dimensional data models and SSAS cubes on SQL Server DB

• Ability to identify trends and patterns in data and creating insights

• Familiarity with Azure platform services

• Experience administering SQL Server Databases

• Experience working with T-SQL

• Experience with business logic data validations

• Experience working with large datasets

• Familiarity with Data Science and R language

• 1+ years' experience in a Federal environment

• Experience working within an agile framework

• Experience integrating SharePoint with Microsoft PowerBI dashboards
