Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cybersecurity and Network Engineering Intern to join the Technology Services Sector, supporting our National Security Solutions operating unit programs focusing on Department of State. You will be located in Springfield, VA, Arlington, VA, Washington, DC, or Beltsville, MD based on your background and operational needs. The selected candidate will work in collaborative engineering teams that will utilize the intern's cybersecurity skillsets while participating in a summer internship program to develop broader competencies.
The intern will participate with a team that performs network engineering and administration spanning the globe and cybersecurity defenses for endpoints on this global network.
Responsibilities may include:
Complete a capstone project that is aligned with tasking assigned over the summer.
Participate in collaborative teams working toward specified project goals at a customer location.
Contribute to team efforts employing full life-cycle information technology operations in a complex, global mission environment.
Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2019
Bemajoringin Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline with software development experience from an accredited college/university
Interest in and introductory knowledge of defensive cybersecurity operations and with cybersecurity focused tools or experience in or knowledge of networking operations and administration such as switch, router, firewall, and network security appliance management
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2019
Overall GPA of 3.25 or higher
Secret clearance required to start
Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance, U.S. Citizenship required
Rising undergrad senior by start of internship
Overall GPA of 3.7 or higher
Existing Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Previous intern or other Government-related experience working in teams in an information technology operations environment
