Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager 3 to join our team. This position will be located in Warner Robins, Georgia. Our team in Warner Robins is a world class provider in modernization and sustainment capabilities for mission and weapon systems.

What you'll get to do:

The selected candidate will get the opportunity to lead our Systems Engineering team. This team (including managers) has ~40 personnel that are comprised of systems, hardware, and test engineering teams. This team provides integrated, hardware, and test solutions both to our internal and external customers. The manager will be responsible to shape the strategy, provide leadership, and guide the success of all responsible engineering efforts.

Your responsibilities also include:

  • Provide project and technical oversight of all activities performed by the group

  • Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers

  • Increasing systems engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring

  • Candidate will be a thought leader of systems thinking and systems engineering for both their team and the organization.

  • Balancing employee needs with business goals

  • Provide ownership of and direction to the processes used in the group

  • Apply best practices in design, manufacturing, and test processes to projects

  • Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements

  • Champion of new business and strategic growth for your engineering area of responsibility

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in an engineering discipline with 9 years of engineering experience; OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of engineering experience

  • 5+ years of design experience for electronic systems for military applications

  • 3+ years of project management, IPT leadership, or cost account management experience.

  • High proficiency in systems engineering best practices, technical problem solving, to include requirements creation, requirements decomposition, requirements management, systems design, and integration and test.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills along with proven success working in an integrated product team environment.

  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 14+ years related engineering experience with BS Degree in a STEM discipline; OR 12 years related engineering experience with BS Degree in a STEM discipline

  • Design experience breadth (hardware design, digital design, firmware design, and embedded software design)

  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare and/or Radar Principles

  • Experience leading large cross functional development projects

  • Bachelor's of Science or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Salary Range: $152,100 - $228,100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
