Northrop Grumman Technology Services Sector is seeking a SCA Electronics Technician I - Quality Inspector to perform required inspections (purchased parts, incoming and receiving in-process inspections and final inspections) to insure conformance to the Northrop Grumman Corporation Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, in support of repair/manufacturing contracts; purchase orders and/or internal work instructions.
Use predetermined methods (blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists) to perform both visual and mechanical inspections on products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, and subassemblies;.
Perform verification of standards, use of test/monitoring equipment, and documentation.
Monitor compliance to requirements, such as, safety glasses; use of protective gloves; ear protection, etc.
Work is performed within the confines of standardized company and industry policies, practices and procedures.
Make decisions with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed of which records of results are maintained through the application of some technical knowledge associated with product.
Work involves use of practical electronic theory and basic tools as well as the ability to work from blueprints, work instructions, schematics, diagrams, rough sketches and verbal instructions.
Other duties include, but will not be limited to inputs in process changes in support of efficiency and to improve productivity.
High School Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum 3 years of experience in a highly technical environment, which includes quality inspection.
Ability to use reasoning to determine the problems encountered with inspection.
Computer skills (i.e. MS Word and Excel) are necessary
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance
US Citizenship required
2 year Technical Degree or Associate’s Degree in related Technical field, plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience or Military experience equivalent
Active Secret clearance preferred.
Familiarity with inspection/testing of electro-mechanical components/systems.
Basic knowledge of ISO 9001:2008
Current IPC J-STD-001 CIS certification
Current IPC-A-610 CIS certification
