Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Location: Wallops Island, VA is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the Delmarva Peninsula and is home to the NASA Wallops Flight Facility, a government installation supported by Northrop Grumman. We are just a few hours from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Job Summary:

  • Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the selection, configuration, and design of suborbital payload launch vehicles.

  • Assist designing and maintaining rocket components, structures, and systems.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations on technical subjects.

  • Practice and learn technical professional behavior including memorandum writing, email and calendar usage via Outlook.

  • Complete intern-specific projects and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university

  • Be majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math related degree.

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics.

  • Course work experience with Electronics, Power, RF.

  • Experience with MatLab, Orcad, Microsoft Excel.
