We are seeking a self-starting, a motivated Principal Configuration Analyst to join our dedicated Southern California field engineering team. The team designs, develops, tests, delivers, and operates advanced prototypes and unique marine systems.
The candidate will have the opportunity to perform configuration management activities through various phases of engineering for complex systems in a fast-paced defense environment. This will involve planning and coordinating existing engineering document control through various phases, as well as implementing new tools into the configuration management cycle.
This involves a broad knowledge of configuration management (CM) processes and techniques. The candidate will review and analyze engineering documentation, 3D models, and change orders and will coordinate with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and parallel engineering data control activities. The candidate will also manage the implantation of new digital CM tools as the database owner to include new workflows and incorporation of existing documentation. The candidate will write new process documents and administer future configuration management changes and ensure accurate transfer of engineering data.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support configuration data management planning, including process definition, implementation, and training
Implement new configuration management (CM) tools (Solidworks Product Data Manager) and act as the CM Owner and Administrator
Maintain a systematic change management process by generating configuration management documents and support engineering change control
Produce new configuration management process documentation as required
Prepare documents for archival and maintain archived records as required
Basic Qualifications for Principal Configuration Analyst:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
Must have a minimum of an active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI eligibility and with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to starting.
Configuration management or change control experience
Experience with digital configuration management tools (Seimens Teamcenter, Widchill PLM, Autodesk Vault, Solidworks PDM, etc.)
Experience with MS Office suite tools
Experience creating and documenting workflow processes for engineering changes
Experience implementing digital configuration management tools into various engineering lifecycle phases
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Solidworks PDM (Product Data Manager) experience as an administrator or configuration management role
Drafting and/or CAD exposure or experience to facilitate drawing and model review and transition into new digital tools
Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to project plan and execute
Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management
Process improvement experience
Demonstrated independent planning, organization, and working in cross-functional teams with a customer focus
Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
