Northrop Grumman’s Chief Information Office is seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Principal Enterprise-Wide Applications Analyst to help develop and evolve our capabilities in Application Portfolio Management. The position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of our ServiceNow APM module while providing data analytical support. This position can be remote. This is subject to change based on business conditions.

Responsibilities may include the followings:

APM ServiceNow Tool

  • Expert knowledge of the Business Applications table, APM forms, and workflows in addition to the ServiceNow Platform and its functionalities and capabilities

  • Create relationships between applications and their capabilities

  • Run reports to assess application cleanliness and completeness and assist in maintaining the application data

  • Build out dashboards to relay information about the applications and/or based on user requests

  • Identify and troubleshoot any production issues and communicate with SysAdmins to ensure proper functioning of the Platform

Agile/Product Owners

  • Create development stories based on needs of the business determined by stakeholders

  • Run PI Planning activities and set the plan for the PI for the APM Team

  • Act as the representative of APM in ART Demos and ART Syncs

  • Host Syncs, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospective meetings in the absence of the Scrum Master

  • Thoroughly test development stories in DEV and STAGE and provide feedback to developers

Rationalization

  • General knowledge of application rationalization, how to identify redundancies, and how to leverage the APM tool to conduct it at the enterprise level

  • Assist with rationalization processes and overall strategy

  • Provide support with application assessments and the interpretation of those results

  • Populate application cost data in the Application TCO Module

Ongoing Support/Day to Day Operations

  • Assist application POCs with application maintenance activities

  • Ensure proper support is given to stakeholders using the tool

  • Relay APM strategy and criteria to users

  • Manage application requests and ensure it aligns with current criteria

  • Conduct APM Change Board meetings and prioritize APM-related items

  • Participate and contribute to the deliverables from the Change Board and other governance bodies

  • Provide subject matter expertise on application attributes and mapping

  • Determine gaps in other forms and processes and how APM can be leveraged to help other teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years of system administration or software analysis experience is required

  • Experience with ServiceNow is required and APM is desired.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. OR a Masters Degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work with variety of datasets and manipulate data to meet business reporting needs

  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel (expert), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint Proficient with Zoom and Teams functionality

  • High level of organization, time management skills, ability to work both collaboratively as well as independently across simultaneous projects.

  • Aptitude to learn software and applications (we are seeking a candidate who has an aptitude for learning and understanding technology)

  • Excellent decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication (including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms), as well as project and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a strong understanding and practical experience in the following areas are nice to have:

  • APM portal: View business, information, application, and technology portfolios in a single place.

  • Application portfolio: Make data‑driven decisions on whether to invest, sustain, or replace business applications.

  • Capability mapping: Align technology investments and services to business value based on capability.

  • Technology portfolio management: Manage technology risk by monitoring the versions and lifecycles of business apps.

  • Experience with managing business applications and an understanding of business capabilities

  • Experience with HTML, data applications and business intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Ability to work independently and in a global team setting, while managing competing priorities

  • Demonstrates excellent people skills for working with both technical staff, executives, and end users

  • Highly collaborative and uses feedback to improve programs and outcomes. Ability to support large scale change initiatives.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred

Salary Range: $97,500 - $121,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
