Northrop Grumman Production Controller in Sykesville, Maryland

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Production Controller to join its team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sykesville, Maryland .

The Production Controller responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining production orders scheduled per Material Requirement Planning (MRP).

  • Verifies availability of material for the manufacture of military products to support Manufacturing.

  • Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and

shipping schedules.

  • Assists in determining possible and actual shortages and will initiate action to correct these deficiencies.

  • Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential

problems and appropriate remedial action.

  • Actively participate in implementation and sustainment of 5s activities.

  • Maintain compliance to all contract requirements, policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 2 years of related experience; such as experience in a manufacturing environment, production experience, warehousing, or similar.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 20-30 pounds.

  • Ability to stand and walk for at least 75% of the day.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a folk lift certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a production controller, material expeditor and/or material planner

  • Associates degree

  • Knowledge of manufacturing work flow

  • Experience with SAP or similar MRP systems

  • Experience handling electronics

  • Similar experience within the defense contracting industry, or within the military

  • Current fork lift certification
