Northrop Grumman Contract Administrator 3 in Sykesville, Maryland
Northrop Grumman Navigation and Maritime Systems Division, is seeking a Contracts Administrator 3 to support our Maritime Systems business unit in Sykesville, MD. The successful candidate will provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business related matters involving interpretation of government regulations and application of company contracts policies and procedures. The position responsibilities are: participate in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract execution and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal and contract requirements. The successful candidate is also responsible for solicitation review/analysis; preparing proposals; advising management of contractual rights and obligations; compiling and analyzing report data; and maintaining historical contract information in support of future division and sector requirements. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Serve as a key Contracts Administrator for Maritime Systems on contractual and business issues by identifying and mitigating risk, planning and executing successful negotiations, constructing favorable contract terms and conditions including appropriate subcontract flow downs, achieving target profit margins and assisting the business in meeting/exceeding its goals and objectives.
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
A Bachelor's degree and 6 years of successful experience in Contract Administration, and/or Business Management or related field or 4 years with a Master's Degree or J.D.
Must possess ability to provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business related matters including proposal strategy, pricing, audits, contract formation and customer relationships
Demonstrated ability to protect the contract baseline with diligent attention to managing contract change activities
Strong analytical approach to problem solving, risk assessment and strategy
Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength with verbal, written, PC, presentation and communications skills
Working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry
Proficiency and experience supporting sole source and competitive acquisitions
Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
Experience with various contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracts
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies and practices
Strong interpersonal skills
