We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 3 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. What you'll get to do:

The Systems Engineering Manager 3 is responsible for providing functional leadership and direction of the Mission Engineering and Systems Architecture group which consists of a staff of four Systems Engineering Managers with approximately 50 systems engineers. Responsibilities include leading a diverse team of system engineers in the areas of requirements development and verification, interface definition and design, and modeling, simulation and performance analysis on both machinery and launcher programs. The job also includes management of time keeping, performance reviews, staffing and resource planning, training, and team engagement for their section.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group

  • Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers

  • Increasing systems engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring

  • Balancing employee needs with business goals

  • Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group

  • Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process

  • Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 14 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of engineering experience.

  • US Citizenship with an Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).

  • Strong fundamentals in Systems Engineering

  • Experience in technical, program, project, or functional/people management

  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).

  • Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred.

  • Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks

  • Experience with proposals and Earned Value

  • Experience with DOORS
