Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer based out of Northern California.
What You'll get to Do:
Plan and lead Systems Engineering projects and tasks as part of a team
Coordinate Systems Engineering activities with program management, project team, and functional management
Interface with internal and external customers for Systems Engineering activities, generate and present material for briefings, and developing proposals
Develop and update performance and detail requirements while working closely with internal and external customers
Develop and update internal and external interfaces
Verify and validate systems
Lead and coordinate preparation, conduct, and closeout for SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, SVR and other formal reviews
Attend and take part in technical and peer reviews as independent reviewer
The ideal candidate enjoys supporting multiple projects. Your work will vary from daytoday and you will need to be comfortable juggling multiple tasks in support of different goals. The ability to prioritize and be agile is a must as we flex to meet client needs. Travel is occasional, consisting of visits to customer and other contractor offices for technical reviews, meetings, and working groups. Travel may increase in frequency as systems activity increases.

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 9+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7+ years of relevant work experience
5+ years of combined experience in the following:Model Bases Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management (note: please make sure this experience is clearly shown on the resume)
Proficient with Microsoft Office
U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
MBSE concepts and tools (MagicDraw and / or Cameo preferred)
Managing and developing requirements in DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools
Technical management or project management
Interface development and management
Verification and validation activities
Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office, military, and / or related Defense systems
Department of Defense (DoD) systems engineering principles and policies
Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance, interim Secret clearance, or inactive Secret clearance (last active within 2 years)
