The Facilities and Maintenance Department is developing a new Center of Excellence (COE) for Machine Performance and is seeking an Engineer of Complex Machine Systems to join our team. This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA. The Engineer selected for this new program will be on the forefront for the COE and will work closely with Facility Maintenance and Production teams to establish the protocols and standards for the COE. The responsibilities of the team are as follows:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work closely with machine electricians to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of state of the art machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of machine components and parts.
Develops electrical maintenance guidelines for industrial equipment.
Gain a solid understanding of machines systems within their engineering discipline by understanding how each system interacts to perform its useful function.
Design and troubleshoots Electrical Systems to support Machine Manufacturing.
Experience using electronic test equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
Ability to troubleshoot at board-level.
Set the standards of excellence in machine performance.
Utilize systems thinking approach to understand how the system works over time within larger systems.
Develop traditional analysis to break down machine systems into separate elements towards a better troubleshooting approach.
Works with OEM's and Maintenance Management to establish protocols for unscheduled maintenance.
Works with Mechanical Engineering to develop Predictive Maintenance Program for machines and equipment.
Works with Mechanical Engineering to develop a Preventive Maintenance Program that meets the manufacturers recommended requirements.
Work with Manufacturing and Facilities Maintenance to achieve machine commissioning of newly acquired machine assets.
Develop and establishes a machine metrology program for CNC Machining to ensure a concise and accurate machine characterization.
Drive execution of the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure all applicable documents, drawings and instructions are available for machine evaluation, troubleshoot and repair. D Work with Facility Maintenance Management in the development of new technologies.
Drive metric performance, i.e., machine uptime, predictive, and OEE.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related and a minimum of 5 years related experience or 3 years with a MS degree.
Experience in a manufacturing environment working on test equipment, machinery and production related equipment.
Must have a solid understanding of manufacturing cost, schedule and technical performance.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work with a multi-functional team.
Familiar with Microsoft software (Windows, Office Suite).
Masters of Science in either, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
EIT (Engineering In-Training) Certification
PE (Professional Engineer) Certification
Prior experience as a maintenance or service technician on heavy industrial equipment.
Familiarity with CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc) and PLC controls (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE).
