Northrop Grumman Capacity Planner/Principal Capacity Planner in Sunnyvale, California

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Capacity Plannerl/Principal Capacity Planner based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

What you'll get to do:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems.

  • Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots product and modifies product to customer requirements.

  • Coordinate interdepartmental collaboration to develop processes and training for short and long term capacity

  • Improve equipment and personnel schedules and utilization based on a master production schedule and critical path MRP requirements.

  • Review and track customer products to recommend steps for capacity and BOM time-phasing accuracy.

This is a dual level req and can be filled as a Capacity Planner or as a Principal Capacity Planner.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Capacity Planner or a Principal Capacity Planner level.

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disclipline and 2+ years of directly related work experience in production control, material/production planning, or work center scheduling specifically in manufacturing or machine shop environment; Master's Degree and 0 years of directly related work experience.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disclipline and 5+ years of directly related work experience in production control, material/production planning, or work center scheduling specifically in manufacturing or machine shop environment; Master's Degree and 3+ years of directly related work experience; PhD and 0 years of directly related work experience.

AND

  • 2+ years hands on Shop Floor or Machine Shop Planning experience utilizing MRP system.

  • Analytical skills required for determining priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.

  • Ability to clearly express oneself verbally and in writing in the English language using good grammar and vocabulary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include strong presentation, project and organizational skills.

  • Strong computer skills including operating Windows based personal computers and using Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel (intermediate level or higher).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP preferred.

  • CPIM or APICS training.

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement experience.

  • Experience working in a low volume, high mixed manufacturing or machine shop environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Earned Value Management a plus.

  • Able to effectively interact in a cross functional group setting, both verbally and in writing, such as Program Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Executives.

  • Ability to read and interpret MRP, bills of materials, routings, non-conforming materials reports, and other common manufacturing documents.

  • Ability to evaluate and analyze spreadsheets and data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to cross functional group, both verbally and in writing.
