Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual to work at a government customer site in Stafford, Virginia as a Principal Network Engineer (T03).
As a member of the program's IT/Network's Maintenance team, primary roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, plan and implement network VPN communications via Cisco based security appliances.
Provide specifications and detailed schematics of network architecture via M.S. Visio.
Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Perform network monitoring, testing, maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configuration.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.
DISA ACAS/Nessus scanning and hardening of Windows workstation/server and Network appliances.
Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Support 24/7 weekend rotation (~every 14 weeks)
Bachelor's + 5 years of exp: Master's + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years of exp. 9 years in leu of degree
Security+ certification required.
Position requires a current Top Secret security clearance with SCI and must be able to successfully complete a CI polygraph.
Must be able to work within a group or independently.
Will work closely with other contractors and government customers.
Ability to travel (less than 10% of time)
DOD 8140 compliance
Information Assurance Technical Workforce (IAT) level 1 or higher.
Solid understanding of IP, TCP/UDP, IPSEC, VTP, DHCP, SNMP, SSL/TLS, DNS and LDAP protocols.
- Experience with: Cisco firewall, Firepower, switches and routing, ACAS, Nessus, STIG compliance, IAVM, patching, RMF, IPS and IDS tuning, log severs and auditing, network monitoring, compliance monitoring, incident response.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $142,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
