Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronic Technician 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Socorro, NM. Our team in Socorro, NM manufactures and tests 120mm tank ammunition. This is a field laboratory position.

Please note this position may be filled at the Technician 3 or Technician 4 depending on the candidate’s education and/or years of experience

Roles & Responsibilities:

Typical duties will include but not be limited to the following.

  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment.

  • Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.

  • Analyze and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.

  • Install upgrades and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.

  • Maintains effective customer communications and relations.

  • May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

  • Maintain effective customer communications, interact independently with customers, and ensure coordinative engineering field changes.

  • Will be responsible for writing reports for both customers and internal management

  • Perform routine maintenance, teardown, inspection and rebuild of gun mount and cannon.

  • Manufacture 120mm tank ammo training rounds in our Load Assembly and Pack (LAP) facility

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Attend Ammo 62 Haz Mat Shippers Course & receive certification within first year of employment.

Basic Qualifications

  • To qualify for Electronic Technician 3

  • High School diploma and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.

  • To qualify for Electronic Technician 4

  • High School diploma and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

  • Ability up to travel domestically & internationally if needed.

  • Test Equipment experience such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and power meter is desired

  • Ability to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Electronic experience

  • As a responsible party to ATF, obtain coverage under Safe Explosive Act as employee possessor/responsible person upon starting.

  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, or be eligible to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended time periods.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical field

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Mechanical aptitude/ experience (please be sure, this is highlighted on your resume)

  • Previous experience working closely with Test and Manufacturing engineers.

  • Previous experience working with inventory control and data base systems.

  • Knowledge or experience with LabView.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or test environment using common tools.

  • Knowledge or experience with explosives or energetic assembly and test.

Salary Range: $51,500 - $85,900

Salary Range 2: $61,200 - $102,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
