Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) in Sierra Vista, AZ is seeking an experienced and qualified Systems Administrator.

T he ideal candidate will be a flexible and energetic individual in the Information Technology field. The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for multiple systems. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. All candidates must be within the Sierra Visa, AZ commuting area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. Must be a US Citizen.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products

  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery

  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

  • Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience or Master's degree with 1 year related experience; OR 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree

  • A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II security certification (example: Security +) or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Systems Administration of Windows environments

  • Technical analysis and technical communication experience

  • Work effectively on a team

  • Ability to support multiple networks, ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, and direct others as necessary

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with Windows workstations and server platforms

  • Understanding of network infrastructure

  • Able to perform security relevant functions, such as system control, monitoring, data transfers

  • A relevant, current security certification (example: Security +, CISSP)

  • Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • A current DoD Secret clearance

Salary Range: $66,600 - $99,800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
