Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Sierra Vista, AZ is currently seeking a VR Developer. The successful candidate has a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities, is an effective communicator and problem solver who can work independently and collaborate as a team player. The ideal person will participate in the entire software development lifecycle with a concentration in C# code and will look for unique and efficient ways to meet the challenges presented to our team. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the Unity game engine and the creation of VR scenes using SteamVR or OpenXR for the development of military-based training content.
Basic Qualifications for the role:
A degree in a related field (Programming, Game Design, Computer Science, etc)
4 years of experience in a game-related production environment. Additional years of experience can be substituted for a degree for the right individual.
US Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Demonstrated capabilities with the Unity game engine, principally related to C# code. OnTriggerEnter, Co-Routines, and Unity Events, are examples.
A portfolio or example projects to review.
Experienced in developing code in a military, defense or similar environment.
Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle using the Agile process with Atlassian products (Scrum, Sprints, Jira, Bitbucket, etc)
Experience with Immersive Technologies (VR, AR, other). We use Vive products and HoloLens, but other experience is acceptable.
Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant industry Certifications (Unity Certified, as example)
Experience with 3D simulations / gaming technology / game design
Strong interviewing and listening skills.
Strong leadership potential
Good organizational skills
Active Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $82,000 - $123,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
