Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Sector is seeking a Material Requirements Planning Analyst to support the materials operation team. This position is located at our Sierra Vista, Arizona campus, in office.

The Material Requirements Planning Analyst acts as the focal point between NG Suppliers, Global Supply Chain (GSC) and Program Management Office (PMO) teams regarding material planning and procurements. A successful candidate will effectively manage competing priorities, build strong internal and external relationships, and present timely, accurate information when required. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

  • Receive and place purchase requests (PRs) throughout the Operating Unit (OU)

  • Liaise with Program and General Procurement (GP) buying teams and requestors to ensure PRs flow smoothly to Purchase Orders (POs).

  • Develop and prepare metrics regarding forecasted material needs, PRs, and POs to present to the NG Programs Management Office PMOs) and OU Leaders

  • Prepare weekly presentations of OU PR to PO dwell times,

  • Use of SAP (S4/HANA) for procurements, production planning, inventory, and status

  • Interface with Quality, Buyers, Requestors, Suppliers, and Programs to manage and burn down Grief Rack tracker tickets to closure (Parts on the grief rack are items which arrive on dock with issues)


  • Performing expediter duties throughout the OU by overseeing orders and communicating with suppliers to confirm or update contracted delivery dates

  • Update SAP, programs, and production teams with updates to late orders

  • Work with suppliers and other NG programs to mitigate material delays


  • Possess high levels of organization and self-motivation with the ability to accomplish challenging tasks in a high-pressure and short-turnaround environment, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to see where tasks and material needs fit in the overall OU picture and their interdependencies

  • Use trends and historical metrics to foresee risks in procurement activities to inform Supply Chain Management and PMO

  • Utilize Enterprise Export/Import Management System (EEMS) to assist program priority international exports and import jurisdiction classifications and shipper requests

  • Identify material and supplier risk and opportunities while in proposal and execution phases

  • Support Request for Proposals (RFPs), capture activities, and proposal efforts within the OU

  • Using strategic thinking to mitigate risks, improve costs, and gain efficiencies within the department and facility

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 6 year’s experience in Logistics, Global Supply Chain, Project Management, Product Support, Training, Cross-departmental coordination or related experience; Bachelor’s degree and 4 year’s experience Logistics, Global Supply Chain, Project Management, Product Support, Training, Cross-departmental coordination or related experience

  • 4+ years communicating and presenting data

  • 4+ year of SAP (or any ordering platform) experience in procurement or inventory management

  • Commitment to being responsive and customer oriented.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance

  • Must have a working knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of building customer/supplier relationships

  • Experience with DD1149’s, DD-250 process, and MOCAS

  • Contracts, Technical, Flight Operations, Logistics and/or Maintenance Background

  • Experience with Cable Shop, Defense Logistics Agency, Global Hawk

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.

  • Excel skills: vLookup, xLookup, PivotTables

Salary Range: $56,600 - $85,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
