Northrop Grumman Sr Principal Software Engineer in Seaside, California

Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Seaside, CA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's DMDC program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • You will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

  • You will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

  • You will determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

  • Ensure software/code standards and Cyber security requirements are met.

  • Initiate corrective action/solutions to stay on project schedule.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines and responsibilities.

  • Must be highly detail-oriented and self-driven and motivated.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related area/discipline and a minimum of 7 years of applicable, relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience; 4 years with a PhD.

  • Solid understanding of and experience with Core Java/J2EE and Spring Framework.

  • Solid understanding of design patterns and enterprise design.

  • Experience in Angular and/or other JavaScript frameworks.

  • Experience with web services (SOAP and/or REST).

  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and practices.

  • Prior work or school experience with databases (MySQL, NoSQL, Oracle...)

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and retain a Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with WebLogic/JBOSS.

  • Prior experience with myBATIS, Maven, ANT.

  • Experience using Richfaces, JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript and similar technologies is a plus.

  • Prior work or school experience with PL/SQL

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum and Test Driven Development.

  • Experience with DoD software/systems development.

  • A current, active Security Clearance.
