Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks Network Operations Support for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic program supporting the Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) located at Scott Air Force Base's Distributed Training Center in IL. Our team performs a variety of efforts leading to the successful development and integration of live, virtual and constructive simulation training systems for a worldwide network supporting daily U.S Air Force training.
Network Ops Support responsibilities:
Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide and virtual private networks (VPN). Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Provide network event scheduling, setup, monitoring, and termination support and remotely assist users. Troubleshoot any network event issues and work closely with MAF DMO O&I staff to develop and implement solutions. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions. Follow standard operating procedure and accurately logs all support provided using web-based event management system. Prepare and/or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operations instructions. Provide regular network monitoring, analysis, and metrics tracking. Monitors, updates, and tracks hardware/software inventory to include shipping and receiving.
