Northrop Grumman TMC Operations Manager Lead - Software Engineer Manager 2 in Schriever AFB, Colorado

The Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) team at Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSS) is looking for you to join our team as the TMC Operations Manager Lead based out of Schriever AFB, in Colorado Springs, CO. SWDC supports a wide range of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) directorates. The TMC is a cornerstone element to the SWDC MDA/DE Task Order.

What You'll get to Do:

The TMC is responsible for the development of models and simulations used to stimulate element models of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), including kinematic missile modeling, IR signature modeling, data production/analysis activities, and maintenance/ sustainment activities for the entire TMC software baseline.

The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective operations of a team of 120+ technical staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the deputy to the TMC Product Line Lead

  • Lead the business execution of the organization including ensuring commitments are met, proposal and technical direction letter coordination, staffing execution, and process integration

  • Backup the Product Line Lead in chairing the CCB and in Earned Value Management System analysis and reporting, working with the TMC Cost Account Manager to communicate budget performance needs

  • Management and technical management of special assignments

This position may also include an engineering functional management role as a first or second line manager.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 14 years or more of relevant professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree

  • Active Final Secret DoD Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

  • Prior experience as a first line manager with supervisory and hiring responsibilities and experience in establishing a positive leadership culture

  • Prior experience in support of DoD software development programs

  • Prior experience leading the execution of systems engineering and/or software development processes

  • Prior project and/or program management experience

  • Strong understanding of EVMS

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • BS or MS in a relevant STEM Discipline

  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Prior experience as a second line leader (e.g., manager of managers)

  • Prior experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM)

  • Prior experience in supporting the Missile Defense domain and the BMDS

  • Prior experience in the development of Modeling and Simulation products

  • Prior experience in the generation or use of missile threat products

  • Demonstrated track record of earning and maintaining customer trust

  • Basic understanding of defensive cyber principles

  • PMP certification

Salary Minimum for Colorado location: $127,760

Salary Maximum for Colorado location: $191,640

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
