Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Engineer Software – Technical Product Owner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Spring, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Essential Functions:
The primary role of the Technical Product Owner will be coordinating between technical teams both within the X-Lab and the C2BMC core development teams to advance C2BMC capabilities from prototypes to operational capabilities
The selected applicant is expected to advise and coordinate with integrated teams of other systems engineers, software developers, and analysts to develop solutions for integrated and advance missile defense to include regional and global defense scenarios
Work closely with X-Lab Agile teams to understand concepts, algorithms, and logging in order to build integrated solutions and prototypes
Utilize math, physics, statistics, data parsing, plotting, and database techniques to analyze complex data related to command, control, track state vectors, covariances, and the tasking of EO/IR and RF sensors on experimental and operational software
Design, develop, and extend analysis tools in a configuration managed toolbox that is shared across multiple teams and labs
Assist X-Lab Engineering Manager and Technical Lead in the definition and development of technology roadmaps and experiment plans
