Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems Test – Test Support SME (24-353) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Support test and analysis activities of the Missile Defense National Team for C2BMC Architecture and System Engineering Global. Work with a multi-contractor team in the development and execution of a comprehensive test and analysis program supporting a capability-based acquisition of the C2BMC Element of the BMDS. Plan and implement testing of C2BMC and related BMDS s/w and h/w components and perform post-test data analysis and reporting in a group environment to validate and verify the C2BMC interface and system-level requirements. The candidate will prepare test objectives and architectures and support the writing of test and analysis plans/procedures, develop and validate post-test analysis tools, perform detailed post-test data analysis, prepare test reports, and brief test results to all contractor and government management levels.
Essential Functions:
Experience with DoD test methodologies and terminologies, Missile Defense Agency elements or components, and associated test tools.
Participating in system test events, exercises, and wargames.
Independently and cooperatively develop test objectives, concepts, and architectures in the BMDS system context, write and execute test plans and procedures, develop and validate customized analysis tools, and coordinate post-test analysis on a broad level across the National Teams and MDA.
Common Data Analysis techniques and be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program.
Basic Qualifications:

An active Top Secret clearance is required to start.
5 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 3 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree
Understanding of DoD and missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques.
Experience developing test objectives and related data analysis plans and procedures, developing and validating system test analysis tools, and preparing and presenting system test analysis results.
Ability to technically and clearly communicate these concepts across a broad spectrum of audiences, including high-level MDA, DoD, and National Team staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot), developmental systems (e.g., GMD, THAAD), message formats (e.g., TADIL-J, VMF), operational sites (e.g., STRATCOM), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages (e.g., MATLAB or S+) is highly desired.

Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
