Northrop Grumman Aeronautic System's subsidiary, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. has an opening for a Production Operator 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Santa Rosa, CA.

Performs functions associated with basic optical coating manufacturing operations:

  • Chamber foil, hardware bead blasting, machine condition data collection, coating deposition, post processing of coated products including spectral, environmental, and electrical testing of end products

  • Familiarity with computer programs including Excel and Word to collect data. Creates/revises work instructions for existing processes

  • Ability to follow critical work instructions for the technician's assigned platform (past and present) and related analytical equipment

  • Technician may assist in developing methods to control or modify the manufacturing process

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.

  • May provide training to less experienced team members.

  • Participates in program or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Strong math skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in thin film optics

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
