Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will work with the Systems Engineering Lead to meet program milestones and manage the technical baseline. You'll work with associated Integrated Product Teams to develop and execute program plans as well. These projects will rely on you to manage the rhythm to execute the project, coordinating simultaneous responsibilities and requirements.
Essential Functions:
Develop and execute program plans in accordance with system and segment level requirements.
Manage the project execution rhythm, coordination and reporting activities to ensure that all external requirements are completed on time.
Manage supplier activities and serve as a primary project Point of Contact for the project to customers and key suppliers.
Understanding of all system requirements, and developing statements of work, specifications, and interface control documents.
Lead the associated IPTs in preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, conducting and participating in all related design reviews, and serving as a technical liaison to the cross-functional team.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's of Science in a STEM discipline AND 5 Years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a PhD with some level of related academic/military/professional experience in Systems Engineering.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leadership role on Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.
Experience in Cost/Schedule Integration, EVMS and CAM responsibilities.
Experience in proposal development.
Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
Salary Range: $104,600 - $157,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
