Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Electronics Engineer (Field Service Engineer) to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
Responsibilities include:
Integrating, testing, and trouble-shooting software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment.
Supporting a program where application of extensive technical expertise will be required to support a developing system.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time for cross-team collaboration.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Electronics Engineer (Field Service Engineer):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
Demonstrated experience with VMWare
Security+ Certificate
Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)

Previous experience with existing system
Ability to maintain system configurations
Provide expert software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users.
Train end-users.
Support the system & software defect resolution and enhancement efforts.
Ability to develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripts
Ability to develop and maintain Microsoft Group Policies
Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking, Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, and/or VMware vCenter
Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update procedures
Ability to document and maintain system configurations
Ability to provide engineering technical support for peer teams
Ability to engineer and Test new technical solutions in lab environments
Ability to design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructures
Ability to maintain COTS Hardware and Software configuration matrix
Ability to script deployments of Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation operating systems
Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
