Northrop Grumman Space Components Business Unit is seeking a Sr. Principal User Application Liaison tojoin our team.

This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

A Sr. Principal User Application Liaison Interfaces between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Documents product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Requires general-logic knowledge of system capabilities without necessarily the ability to program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide client side application installations, configuration changes, general maintenance and monitoring (Microsoft Windows environment)

  • Create and maintain user accounts on various software platforms and websites, including Teamcenter PLM

  • Troubleshoot software installation and/or connection issues

  • Create and maintain documentation and Best Practice documents, and/or perform training

  • Perform testing of new functionality/configuration changes to assure defect free implementations of software

  • Work closely with business partners to understand their needs and help facilitate process improvements within our applications. Assist these partners to define the scope and objectives & gather specific application requirements

  • Create necessary documentation around new projects both for administrator and end user

  • Ability to contact vendors and request quotes for purchase of new software or additional licenses

  • Knowledge in the usage of ERP software (CostPoint) for generating and checking status of Purchase Requests


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in an Engineering or IT environment

  • Ability to install/uninstall multiple types of software in a Microsoft Windows environment

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM related to Process Planning, MRP, Goods Movements and Quality processes/disciplines with a heavy emphasis on Manufacturing Systems

  • Experience with Siemens NX installations and configurations, start parts, drafting templates, pax files, etc.

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience with creating and editing batch files, PowerShell scripts, xml files, etc.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently

  • Ability to perform work in a virtual environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Aerospace dealing with both government and commercial customers

  • Experience with SAP and shop floor control systems

  • Proficient in ESD training and certifications

  • Experience within a Quality Management System preferably TipQA
