Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Principle Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Northrop Grumman is looking for a hands-on software engineer with experience working in a process-oriented software development environment. The selected candidate must be able to analyze requirements and design, develop and integrate software with hardware in our labs and at flight test. The candidate will work under general direction from the team lead, providing advanced solutions to complex problems. Experience programming application level and/or embedded avionics systems in C/C++.

Provide technical solutions to a wide range of challenging problems. Ability to work on unusually complex problems.
Ability to interface effectively with other product integration team members.
Ability to represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills in working with the customer and technical team in a "self starter" role. The ideal candidate displays a proactive approach to problem-solving and is committed to achieving quality results on schedule. Strong attention to detail is required. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a development environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.
Bachelor's degree STEM and 9 years of relatable experience, or a MS in STEMand 7 years experience, or a PhD in STEM and 4 years experience
Experience in all phases of software development, formal software design, and experience in VxWorks
Active Secret security clearance or higher
Experience with Agile software development and Atlassian tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.)
Experience with software configuration management and build tools (e.g. Git, Subversion, TeamCity)
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Software Development processes, AS9100, IEEE compliant software engineering practices, or the DO-178B standard.
Experience in Object-oriented analysis and design.
Experience with UAV systems
