Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for a System Security Engineer to support Triton Enterprise cyber programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role of System Security Engineer (SSE) includes a wide range of tasks such as architectural and attack path analysis of critical platform segments and subsystems. In the course of normal duties, the candidate may design, develop, integrate, and test system security solutions to mitigate threats. SSEs will collaborate across IPTs to develop and implement security requirements with a focus on ensuring mission effectiveness in cyber contested environments. Not only will the role require the SSE to develop and validate requirements for mission effectiveness, but also how the requirements align with RMF controls. The SSE will also conduct analyses to articulate impact on weapons system performance due to unmitigated vulnerabilities.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years technical experience, or a Master's with 3 years of experience, or PhD with 0 years of experience

  • Active DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain higher clearances involving polygraph

  • Direct experience working with Cybersecurity domain knowledge - areas may include information assurance, anti-tamper, intrusion detection, software protection, penetration testing, software assurance, communications security, encryption/key management, network security, reverse engineering, countermeasures, and certification and accreditation.

  • Direct experience working with systems engineering tasks in one or more of the following areas: systems architecture development, system requirements definition and derivation, integration and test, and verification/validation

  • Direct experience working with Systems Engineering of military systems in one or more of the following areas: RF, Radar, EO/IR, Satellite, Sensors, Embedded software or hardware, Hardware design or system integration, or ground station networks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DOD Top Secret Clearance

  • DoD 8570 IASAE Level III certification (e.g. CISSP)

  • Experience with anti-tamper, reverse engineering, penetration testing, or applied cryptography

  • Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g. C, C++, Python)

  • Understanding of embedded computer software and operating systems

  • Experience remediating, mitigating, and reporting cybersecurity vulnerabilities discovered using ACAS, SCAP/SCC, and Fortify; experience maintaining POA&M documentation
