Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Mission Engineering Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Autonomous Systems (AtS) Division. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego), CA and will report to the Tactical Autonomous Systems (TAS) Program Director.

The Mission Engineering Lead understands the current and future U. S. Navy's mission requirements of maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). The Mission Engineering Lead then ensures the Fire Scout system meets the needs of the warfighter today. The Mission Engineering Lead ensures the design of our system and future capabilities are in line with in-theater employment strategies.

The successful candidate will work with potential customers to determine their needs and communicate the potential our system offers. This role may work with sales, marketing, and business development to identify markets, licensing opportunities, and determine the feasibility of product development. The individual works on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinates with internal departments in identifying/implementing business development projects. The position develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include support for ongoing capture efforts, protect and grow initiatives for existing programs, and development of new domestic markets. Additional responsibilities include: development of Long Range Strategic Planning (LRSP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA) plans, developing advertising and trade show requirements, developing communication plans for customer, and engagements with senior customers. Candidate will also work directly Engineering and our Simulation/Analysis team to model and simulate new mission requirements to achieve strategic program objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional and/or military experience that includes a background in Defense Industry Business Development and/or Strategy, Program Management, Business Management, and/or Engineering, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional and/or military experience that includes a background in Defense Industry Business Development and/or Strategy, Program Management, Business Management, and/or Engineering.

  • Must have at least 2 years of ISR Mission Domain experience.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years demonstrated experience - either leading campaign teams, integrated product teams or program captures

  • Engineering Degree

  • Strategic planning experience

  • Business Acquisition Process (BAP) experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint

  • Understanding of the DoD's and Intelligence Community's acquisition and interagency process

  • Knowledge of the Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution (PPBE) process

  • Ability to travel 10 - 25%
