Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Electronics Engineering Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will support multiple internal customers as well as external customers. This role reports to the IPT leadership and is to manage multiple suppliers, managing cost, schedule, and the technical baseline of all suppliers that provide products to the IPT and program.

Essential Functions:

  • Leading multi-disciplinary supplier management teams (SMTs) to execute SOW tasks, manage subcontracts, and meet key deliveries within project schedule and budget

  • Material baseline and Cost Account Management using EVMS, IMS, QBDs for subcontracts

  • Risk and Opportunity Management

  • Working with the SMTs and the quality organization on supplier quality including FAI, audits, AS9100, source inspections, corrective actions, and non-compliances.

  • Technical review of SOWs and specifications

  • Building and creating resource plans and SMTs to manage subcontracts

  • Developing RE’s and SMT team members and participating in the goal and evaluation portions of the PMP process for employees on the SMT.

The candidate must be comfortable with changing priorities and demonstrate strong organizational skills to support these changes.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in the electronics or electrical hardware development of various Technology Readiness Levels/Product Maturity

  • Supplier Management lead experience working with Supply Chain, Quality, Business Management, and Engineering Functions

  • Experience with Engineering Design, Program Management, and Business Reviews for suppliers and hardware in various life-cycle phases

  • Experience with reviewing SOWs, evaluating supplier product Specifications, and performing technical evaluation of supplier proposals.

  • Experience Managing and leading Technical teams in an IPT environment (Not Direct Reports)

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM related field.

  • Experience with LRIP or production hardware subcontracts.

  • Cost Account Management experience

  • Supplier DMS experience

  • Supplier Quality experience (RCCA’s, CARs, FAI)

  • System Engineering, Integration, and Verification experience

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
