The Space Components Business Unit is seeking a Metrology Engineering Technician 2 to join our team. This position could be located in San Diego, CA
• Support internal and external customers' needs.
• Identify, troubleshoot and solve tooling problems and provide assistance to manufacturing, inspection and engineering issues.
• Analyze data and provide reports in a variety of customers' format.
• Metrology support: tooling/production/inspection.
• Tooling: setup per tool drawing or cad model
• Production: setup shop aids, align flight hardware per customer's drawings or CAD model
• Inspection: support inspections needs for in-process and End Item Data Pack deliverables
High School diploma or equivalent
General knowledge with spatial analyzer software or similar software
General knowledge and experience using CAD software
Experience with MS Excel
Ability to read drawings/blue prints and interpret GD&T
Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.
Ability to manipulate equipment weighting up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and sometimes access challenging locations
Familiarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware an advantage
Certification in engineering or metrology disciplines
Some college preferred
