Northrop Grumman Manager, Engineering Business Operations 3 in San Diego, California
We are looking for someone to join our San Diego campus who will provide operations support to the NGMS San Diego engineering organization, reporting to the San Diego Engineering Coordinator Director. This Engineering Ops Manager will establish and maintain the operating cadence, aligning engineering activities with business area and campus rhythms. The individual will coordinate reporting materials and ensure collaborative review with key stakeholders, and establish and maintain data management systems to support daily execution and historical archiving. The Engineering Ops Manager will work cooperatively with the functional leaders to develop, identify, and share best practices related to operations including staffing coordination, knowledge transfer, proposal support/estimation techniques, communication approaches and tools, and data analytics.
Additional responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain an organizational Dashboard to status overall health of the organization (to include metrics for talent, execution, process, and engagement) to aid in leadership decision making
Coordinate data management (organize and maintain network folders and repositories)Support workforce planning and ensure cadence is adequate to support accurate forecasting; establish metrics to measure staffing affectivity (e.g., critical skills, skill mix, timeliness)
Facilitate the collection and presentation of metrics and develop analytical tools to aid in leadership decision making
Facilitate organizational strategy discussions (off sites, roadmap development, engagement / diversity & inclusion planning)
Lead facilities planning coordination
Coordinate with training lead to plan and track mandatory technical and non-technical training requirements and strategic development needs aligned with roadmaps
Support HR in the facilitation of people development process / reviews
Facilitate NCTA and Capital Planning and Management for San Diego in coordination with other stakeholders (business areas, campuses)
Draft organizational communications related to calendar events and functional processes
Facilitate staff meetings (establish rhythms, coordinate special topics) and document meeting minutes
Bachelor's degree; 8 year's engineering experience; or 5 years' experience with a Master's degree
Excellent organization and planning skills
the ability to interact effectively with a broad cross-section of disciplines (technical and non-technical)
Agility to span a large breadth of topics and work details to resolution, and a demonstrated capability to establish a framework and supporting processes in a dynamic environment.
Applicant should have a strong background in engineering, be a skilled communicator, and be comfortable with planning tools (development and use) including Microsoft Project, SAP, workload forecasting tools, etc.
Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
