Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an Inventory Material Control Support 2 candidate to join our manufacturing team located at the Spectrum Center facility in San Diego California. This team supports the Resilient Network Solutions (RNS) operating unit within the Communications division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. As part of corporate's business focus on Communications, RNS provides world class communications with a range of capabilities spanning from quick reaction/urgent need programs to complex communication integration efforts delivering airborne/ground network solutions for C2, ISR and disaster relief customers worldwide.
The Inventory Control Support team loads, unloads, and delivers materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and performs a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving.
Daily tasks include:
Open containers using hand tools, conduct counts, weigh materials and record information.
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, boxes, trays, racks, conveyors, trucks and machines by hand.
Operate wheelbarrows, hand trucks, forklifts, electric dollies, elevators, or other devices to stack or assemble materials and aid machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
High School and 2 years additional education and/or relevant experience
Mustbe able to obtain a DoD secret clearance which requires US citizenship.
Must have a valid drivers license
Prior experience in warehouse operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Able to use Windows-based tools to produce original documents including plans, procedures and reports.
This position requires physical ability to maneuver around equipment in warehouse, test labs and aircraft.
Must be able to lift up to50 lbs.
Manual dexterity sufficient to use keyboards and control panels.
Must have a strong personal work ethic is required to support multiple programs in a dynamic and extremely fast paced environment.
Must be well organized, effective working independently as well as in a group environment, able to handle multiple assignments and possess good oral and written communication skills.
Must be detail-oriented and possess a strong understanding of commitment to the overall mission.
Must possess the ability to learn and follow established processes, procedures, and requirements.
Must have abasic understanding of Lean Six Sigma processes.
Prior experience with COTS equipment logistics.
Prior experience and exposure utilizing Lean Six Sigma processes.
