Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Quality Inspector to support the Inspection team located in San Diego, CA facility.
The selected candidate will perform in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or subassemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. The Inspector must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings. Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specificationsfor visuall inspection of in-process and completed products such as electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units,to identifydefects. Accepts, rejects,and reviews with Quality and Manufacturing Engineeringfor rework, defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Uses various measuring devices and microscopes. Works from blueprints, diagrams, with dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, including customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
This position is for first shift.
High school diploma and 2+ years of relevant mechanical inspection experience in the Aerospace Industry.
2+ years of experience working with performance & inspection documents, per IPC (Institute for Printed Circuits).
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).
