Northrop Grumman Industrial Engineer 3 or 4 in San Diego, California

Northrop Grumman Missions Systems seeks an Industrial Engineer 3 or 4 to join the Avionics & Tactical Networks (ATN) team located at the Rancho Carmel facility in San Diego, CA.

Our expertise is in delivering complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio, and electronic warfare product application to enable networked communications. As

part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the equipment providers.' Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way.

Industrial Engineer:

Analyzes production processes and output quality to improve efficiencies in production yields and throughput.

Develops work measurement systems and reports performance.

Maintains labor standards; performs ergonomic studies, safety initiatives, facility layout, capacity analysis, and process simulation.

Supports capital equipment studies and proposal activity.

Defines and executes process improvement projects aligned with business strategies.

Leads all Lean and 5S initiatives for the production facility, including facilitating and coaching improvement teams.

Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals.

Requires interface and coordination with other Production support departments as well as regular interface with multiple levels of management.

This position may be filled at a level 3 or 4 position

MANUMS

Basic Qualifications:

Level 3 requirements:

BS in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other related STEM technical field with 5 years minimum relevant experience.

Project planning and management experience for moderately complex tasks.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Power Point, and Simul8 or comparable simulation software.

Experience in manufacturing or operations.

Experience building capacity models.

Working experience in SAP.

Knowledgeable in data analytics.

Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret clearance.

Level 4 requirements:

BS in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other related STEM technical field with 9 years minimum relevant experience.

Project planning and management experience for moderately complex tasks.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Power Point, and Simul8 or comparable simulation software.

Experience in manufacturing or operations.

Experience building capacity models.

Working experience in SAP.

Knowledgeable in data analytics.

Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other related technical field.

6 Sigma / Lean professional certification and/or proven experience.

Prior experience leading Lean and 6 Sigma initiatives.

Project planning and management experience for moderately complex tasks.

Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Experience with SAP or other shop floor control system is desired.

PMP certification.

Background in supporting technical disciplines in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering is a plus.

Experience establishing labor standards.

Candidate must have proficient writing, presentation, and team skills as well as the ability to conduct presentations to upper management.
