Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an EO/IR Engineer/Principal EO/IR Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is supported out of Palmdale, CA.
**This position may be filled by either an EO/IR Engineer level or a Principal EO/IR Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
The successful candidate will have a background in avionics electro-optical sensors and subsystems.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the design and development of a newly developed avionics/payloads subsystem and its subsequent integration.
The successful candidate will be familiar with one or more of the following: Electromagnetics, communications, optics, radar, receiver architecture, advanced signal processing techniques, sensor modeling, and sensor performance validation.
Basic Qualifications:
For - EO/IR Engineer (T02):
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Must have and maintain special program access after start of employment.
Ability to perform up to 25% travel
Basic Qualifications:
For - Principal EO/IR Engineer (T03):
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience OR 0 years' experience
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Must have and maintain special program access after start of employment.
Ability to perform up to 25% travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering
Experience in avionics / payloads system integration and test
Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6
Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and active SAP clearance

Salary Range: $85,000 - $127,400
Salary Range 2: $104,600 - $157,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
