Northrop Grumman MissionsSystems seeks an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer 3 or 4 to join the Rancho Carmel Manufacturing Engineering team located in San Diego, CA.

Our expertise is in delivering complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is in the world of avionics, radio, and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications. As part of the corporation's Communications business unit, we are the

equipment providers.' Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way.

The Electronics Manufacturing Engineer:

Develops manufacturing processes and procedures for the assembly of defense-grade electronics hardware, ranging from automated processing to hand assembly.

Drives statistics-based continuous improvement of production yield and throughput via analysis of process yields, efficiencies, and output quality.

Participates in New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, ensuring optimal manufacturability of new or revised designs by providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Mentors junior engineering personnel on all facets of electronics manufacturing engineering, with an emphasis on NPI and statistics-based continuous improvement.

Defines and executes process improvement projects aligned with business strategies.

Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals.

Regularly interacts with other production support departments and multiple levels of management.

MANUMS

Basic Qualifications:

Qualifications for Level 3:

BS degree in Engineering or related STEM field.

5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing.

CAD design experience.

Capable with statistical analysis software.

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

DoD Secret security clearance eligible.

Qualifications for Level 4:

BS degree in Engineering or related STEM field.

9+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing.

CAD design experience.

Capable with statistical analysis software.

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

DoD Secret security clearance eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in an electronics manufacturing environment, ranging from SMT to box build'.

Experience with SAP, Solumina, or electronic other shop floor control systems.

NPI / Design for Manufacturability experience.

Tool / fixture design experience.

Proficient in the programming, optimization, and maintenance of electronics manufacturing equipment.

Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
