Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff level DevSecOps Mission Systems Engineer (DevSecOps Mission Engineer) role to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Systems Engineering organization. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

As the DevSecOps Mission Engineer, you will serve as the primary focal point across the program to manage and oversee the planning and implementation of a modernized DevSecOps Software and Hardware development and delivery process.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop a comprehensive DevSecOps strategy across all aspects of the engineering lifecycle

  • Enhance the program implementation of DevSecOps enabling capabilities:

  • Work with all engineering teams to facilitate DevSecOps incorporation across the program

  • Oversight of configuration management implementation and test automation efforts to ensure seamless incorporation into the DevSecOps pipelines

  • Oversight of cyber incorporation into the DevSecOps pipelines

  • Work with key stakeholders below to champion the agreements and process improvements needed to fully realize the potential of the DevSecOps pipelines

  • Configuration Management and Mission Assurance for configuration documentation and auditing processes

  • IFC Management for the build, integration, test, and certification

  • PROP process owners for process updates

  • Engineering teams including System Engineering, Software Development, Integration & Test teams

  • Update the Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA) and 'handoff' between development, suppliers, system test, operations, IT, customers - in support of moving from delivering Software Products to delivering Software Services

  • Develop roadmap to reach a Continuous Authority to Operate (cATO)

  • Understand gaps between current processes and cATO

  • Drive for a proposal or change request for a cATO study

  • Lead pathfinder capability effort for cATO implementation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering to include a background in DevSecOps, OR a Master's Degree and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering to include a background in DevSecOps, OR a Ph.D. and 9 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering to include a background in DevSecOps

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strike Program Access

  • Experience with multiple DevOps infrastructures and best practices

  • Experience with the implementation and execution of a DevSecOps pipeline aligned to DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design

  • Strong cross-functional team leadership and communication skills

  • Knowledge or Experience with obtaining DoD continuous Authority to Operate (cATO)

  • Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)

  • Knowledge and experience with Cloud Architectures

  • Knowledge and experience with virtualization technology, microservices, containers and container orchestration tools, build tools, and continuous integration environments

  • Knowledge and experience with Everything as Code Architectures

Salary Range: $161,000 - $241,400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
