The Manufacturing team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Mechanical Assembler1 based out of Rancho Carmel facility in San Diego, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

The Mechanical Assembler1 position will be building/assembling module level sub-assemblies and top level assemblies. Assemblers will read and correctly interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed instructions and follow said visual aids and instructions for manufacturing processes to successfully build top quality assemblies. Individuals must be able to keep up with production's intensive schedule and is expected to meet deadlines in a timely fashion. Preferred qualifications for this position will be individuals with a basic mechanical assembly understanding.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work with chemicals on a daily basis

  • Conduct frequent and repetitive motions on assemblies

  • Comply with acceptance criteria set forth by customers

  • Produce high quality zero defect work

  • Work in a high paced environment

  • Inspect individual work prior to moving forward to next operation

  • Work in a team environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED with a basic understanding of mechanical assembly.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US citizenship.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, rotate 40lbs regularly.

  • Prior experienced working in a fast paced, high repetitive motion environment.

  • Prior experience with working with chemicals.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • J-STD Experience/Certification.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Prior experience with mechanical assemblies.

  • Active DOD.

  • Clean room environment experience.

  • ESD experience
