Northrop Grumman Technology Services group in San Bernardino, CA is hiring a Mechanical Designer. This role may have the following duties, responsibilities, and qualifications. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipment. Applicant will apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications. Primary focus will be on ICBM's, ground vehicles and ground support equipment. Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to, design of components/systems, preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures, and coordination/leading of tasks. Position requires preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications), schedules, and interface with customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (or higher)

  • 5+ years of experience with B.S. Degree in Engineering or 3+ years of experience with M.S. Degree in Engineering.

  • 3+ years in mechanical and/or aerospace design.

  • 3+ years usingNX, ProEngineer, Catia or other CAD software, for both solid model creation and 2D drawing and/or 3D Model-Based Definition creation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (or higher)

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience using NX CAD and TeamCenter PLM software.

  • Familiarity with ICBM and/or Space Craft systems and support equipment.

  • Subsystem design experience, including, but not limited to, hydraulic, thermal, power distribution and mechanisms.
