Northrop Grumman’s Mission System’s Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division is seeking a Business Development Manager to support our SIGINT, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), and systems autonomy portfolio. The customers in this portfolio include both DoD and the Intelligence Community (IC). As part of a team dedicated to winning new business and market development, the successful candidate will lead the customer engagement in this area and cross company collaboration to drive capture wins and new awards. Day-to-day activities will include customer engagement planning, pipeline management, opportunity architecting, developing strategic partnerships, and new business investment management. As part of a matrixed team, the manager will be required to collaborate with functional support organizations including business management, engineering, contracts, global supply chain, and security to assess opportunity risks.
The ideal candidate will be able to work across all security domains. The candidate must have exceptional communications (oral and written), strategic thinking, time management skills, and negotiation abilities in support of framing strategies and mission CONOPS, developing requirements with the warfighter, and establishing strategic teaming.
The location for this role is Sacramento, CA.
Specific job duties include:
Researching and analyzing the technical, operational, customer, and partner elements of the SIGINT, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), and autonomy market areas across air, land, sea, undersea, and space domains
Developing customer engagement strategies and serving as the face of the business to our customer.
Identification, qualification, and sustainment of business opportunities within a larger market pipeline
Developing and maintaining market strategies to facilitate business growth
Supporting capture and proposal activities
Supporting the development of investment plans
Travel may be required 50% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
10 years combined relevant experience with a BA degree or 8 years’ experience with a master’s degree
Current TS/SCI clearance
Demonstrated experience in the DoD and IC marketplace
Familiarity with SIGINT and ESM missions and capabilities in any domain
Familiarity with autonomy concepts in any domain
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent, within the last 3 years, direct experience within USG or IC program offices as civilian or military personnel
Experience with airborne SIGINT and ESM missions and capabilities
Experience with autonomous airborne systems
Experience with defense industry business development activities
Experience with Salesforce or similar opportunity management software
Experience working in a matrix organization where leadership through influence, rather than authority, was required
Salary Range: $170,000 - $255,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
