Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Mission Assurance to provide support to our Roy, UT Sentinel team (GBSD).

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Lead teams with Corrective/Preventive action development, coordination, and successful implementation including verification of effectiveness.

  • Present to and coordinate with Customer counterparts (i.e. DCMA, USAF) and Program leadership.

  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements and processes are met.

  • Engage with QMS and AS9100 requirements, Corrective/Preventive Action Request Methodologies, Customer Engagement, QMS Internal & External Audit Programs.

  • Lead RCCA activities including root cause analysis (i.e. 5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa (Fishbone), FMEA, etc.).

  • Maintain database of corrective actions, ensuring organized, efficient, and results oriented objectives.

  • Lead in the preparation and execution of program and division level Preventive and Corrective Action Board (PCAB), as well as root cause investigations.

  • Develop, analyze, and present metrics to customer and program leadership.

  • Provide guidance to others and interface with varying levels of management and customers.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree and 8 years of technical experience OR a Master's Degree and 6 years of technical experience, OR a PhD with 4 years of experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

  • 3+ years Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Experience

  • Experience in quality management systems to support program processes, audits, and improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional or other formal project management training

  • Certifications in CMMI or Six Sigma Black Belt Methodologies

  • AS9100 Auditor Training

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results.

  • Demonstrated Internal / External Customer Interface Experience

Salary Range: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
