Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer- Mission Assurance to provide support to our Roy, Utah , Sentinel (GBSD) team. This role will assist in definition and monitoring of mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure program mission success.

Things you will get to do:

  • Perform technical reviews of Sentinel drawings, SOW's, and requirements documents for the Support and Training (S&T) segment.

  • Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of S&T designs and assets.

  • Assist the S&T Mission Assurance Manager with all Sentinel Mission Assurance /Program Management requirements including preparation and execution of program Preventive and Corrective Action Board (PCAB) root cause investigations, collection and analysis of Sentinel Program Metrics, and assistance in preparation of Program Management Program Review packages.

  • Lead and facilitate S&T FRBs ensuring identification of root cause and proper implementation of corrective actions and reach back and reach across.

  • Work closely with the Supplier Mission Assurance organization for execution of supplier scope in compliance to program requirements.

  • Support S&T Segment in preparation for upcoming Critical Design Review (CDR) activities and sell off/acceptance of products and services.

  • Support Engineering Review Boards with technical reviews and approvals and ensure S&T compliance to the Sentinel Quality Assurance Program Plan.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree and 9 Years of relevant experience, OR 7 Years of relevant experience with a Masters; OR 4 Years of relevant experience with PhD. An additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S. citizenship eligible for Special Access Program Clearance.

  • Active Secret Clearance (awarded within the past 6 years) with ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance

  • Experience in developing and/or implementing Mission Assurance or Quality Assurance plans.

  • Experience in quality management systems to support program processes, audits, and/or improvement.

  • Experience with manufacturing and test labs quality assurance processes.

  • Experience with root cause corrective actions and MRB.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment

  • Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for overall program and segments.

  • Leadership experience within manufacturing and engineering environments

  • Previous technical experience with ICBM

  • Experience in Project/Program Management and Earned Value Management system (EVMS) practices.

Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
