Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Engineer Embedded Software / Sr. Principal Engineer Embedded Software (Embedded) in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. This position is located: Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
• Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design
• Designs, develops and tests embedded real-time device layer, middleware and/or application layer software.
• Designs, develops, and tests simulation software for use in high fidelity simulation of embedded real-time systems integration of simulators may include console and weapon system simulations, virtual reality, and augmented reality
• Collaborates with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met
• Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices
• Performs code quality management and corrects defects
• Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected
Candidate should have:
• Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code
• Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLAB.
• Experience with deployment automation tools such as chef, puppet or ansible
• Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
• Experience with C/C++ development.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe for Lean Enterprises

Experience developing or debugging operating system software targeted for an embedded system.

Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600
Salary Range 2: $112,000 - $168,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
