Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This position is located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Lead early test planning for Integrated Functional Capability-based testing

  • Create test information sheets that sequence test objectives into logical groupings, assign objectives to test events, identify long-lead lab capabilities needed, and assign test events to test teams

  • Participate in Aerospace Vehicle Equipment Segment Hardware in-the-loop test bed design reviews to ensure designs support execution of test objectives

  • Create verification architectural models for system-level tests and demonstrations

  • Implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), using SysML and DoDAF models in Cameo, to link test cases to system requirements

  • Drive the execution and closure of specific systems engineering issues relating to test requirements compliance, standardization of processes, achieving technical program metric performance, test environment definition, and test limitations

  • Develop test governance, definition, and processes

  • Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 7 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within the last 6 years or in Continuous Evaluation (CE)

  • Understanding of Model Based System Engineering principles, working experience with CAMEO

  • Experience integrating requirements, performance and interface, into MBSE tools

  • Knowledge/experience with AF Test Directive 99-103

  • Experience with ICBMs (MM, PK, Small Missile) or DOD programs

  • Coordinate integrated testing activities with multiple test teams

  • Strong understanding of entire product lifecycle, modeling and engineering best practices

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of system integration and test principles and processes

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, DOORS database, requirements decomposition and allocation

  • Collaborate with other IPTs to define test objectives and test requirements for test activities in the Hardware in the Loop Labs

  • Support to develop, plan, and execute qualification and acceptance test plans, as well as supporting design and test reporting and reviews

  • Support developing and updated the detailed integration test plan (ITP)

  • Support the generation of test procedures and test readiness reviews (TRRs)

  • Creation of test Concept of Operations (ConOps) flows that maximizes the utility of test resources while meeting schedule and technical requirements and/or constraints

  • Generate and support test data decomposition and test reports to other IPTs

  • Assist in consolidating and processing of final test data for requirements verification/model validation sign-off

Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
