Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Components Engineer (Material Process Engineer) . This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. NOTE: Remote/teleworker may be considered for the right candidate supporting our GBSD Payloads Team of Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector. Occasional travel may be required.
What You'll Get To Do:
Creating Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical (EEEE) Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet Program and Company Requirements
Work with design engineers in selection, application, and Qualification of EEEE components
Tailoring and allocating EEEE Part and Circuit Card Assembly requirements to System, Subsystem, and Unit Level Specifications.
Support Program Subcontractors with EEEE Part requirements interpretation and review of Subcontractor Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs)
Supporting Supply Chain with procurement requirements, selection of suppliers, and procurement issues
Using Product Lifecycle Management Software for managing new part requests, part objects, and part attributes.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master's Degree; 4 years with PhD
Electrical component design or electrical engineering experience in an aerospace environment
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiar with the selection and application of EEEE components in systems design
Working knowledge of various NASA & Military
Performance documents required for the selection and screening of Space, Military, DSSC, Non-Standard, and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf components, including M38534(Hybrids), M38535 (microcircuits), M19500 (semiconductors), M123 (capacitors), M55342 (resistors), M39016 (relays), M981(magnetics), and various electrical interconnect systems.
Working knowledge of Destructive Physical analysis (M1580), Failure Analysis, physics of failure, Root Cause & Corrective Action, component specifications, component screening & qualification, component application qualification, and related installation/assembly process specifications
Knowledge in the following MIL standard documents: MIL-PRF-38534 for Hybrids, MIL-STD-1580 for DPA, MIL-PRF-38535 for Microcircuits (ICs), and MIL-PRF-19500 for Semiconductor Devices.
Experience in parts, materials and process selection, manufacturing support, failure analysis, and processing of materials for space hardware
DOD Top Secret clearance or SCI access
Salary Range: $101,600 - $152,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
