Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Training Systems Product Trainer in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. This position is located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do

The Product Trainer will support the Training Services Lead in providing design, development, and delivery of training courseware and related services. The selected candidate will support the creation and maintenance of formal curricula and other related training services.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities

  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information

  • Develop task lists, objectives, syllabi and training products according to DoD, USAF and ACC operating instructions and Instructional System Design (ISD)

  • Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

  • Create instructional materials and products for technology-based courses - including online, mobile, immersive and performance support

  • Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills

  • Instruction materials - self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based storyboards; mobile learning concepts (smart phones, tablets)

  • Training materials - instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills based training requirements.

  • Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities - e.g. pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes

  • Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communication, Instructional Systems Design or Training & Development or related field, 3 Years with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret Level clearance and the ability to be granted Special Program Access

  • Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards

  • Experience with the Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implementing, and Evaluating (ADDIE) learning systems

  • Self-initiator with independence to acquire and maintain technical skills for professional development

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing e-learning (e.g. computer-based, web-based training, online learning) that is delivered through digital media including Learning Management Systems (LMS), web, video, or mobile devices

  • 3-5 years teaching experience (will consider military experience) including designing and developing formal course curriculums, establishing workforce development training needs, developing goals and objectives, developing training programs, and applying the ISD process

  • Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to be granted Special Program Access

  • Familiarity with technical Statement of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL), and Data Item Description (DID)

  • Basic understanding of Agile processes

  • Training needs analysis (and other forms of analysis) that informs objectives and training design

Salary Range: $55,100 - $82,700

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
